"Fox & Friends" co-host Steve Doocy announces change of hosting duties

After waking up to nearly 30 years of alarm clock at 3:30 a.m., “Fox & Friends” co-host Steve Doocy was finally able to hit the snooze.

The long-time host announced that “Fox and Friends”, “it’s time to make a change” that will allow him to spend more time with his growing family while still continuing as a host’s responsibilities.

"After decades of getting up at 3:30 and driving into New York City in the dark, today is the last day I will be doing this show on the couch. I'm not retiring, I'm not leaving the show. I'm still the host, but now is the time to make a change."

“Fox News Media CEO, a friend of mine has been around for over 30 years, Suzanne Scott, and I’ve been trying to figure out what the next generation of people who wake up at 3:30 should be next.

Dusey said he is now receiving three days a week and will be in Florida. He said he would report “coast to coast,” including areas that have not received much coverage from the United States.

"When my kids grew up, I never had breakfast with them," he said. "I've been here all the time, and Casey made everything. But tomorrow starts tomorrow, I'll have breakfast with my grandchildren and children as much as possible."

President Donald Trump also shared a special message with Doocy, thanking him for his fair coverage over the years and congratulating him on his transition.

"I just want to congratulate you on your new role," the president said. "I just think you're a great person. You've been treating me all the time, sometimes fairer than others, but that's OK. You're really great, you're going to keep going with you in your work and crafts, and it's an honor to spend so much time with you and spend a lot of time in the morning and in the whole group."

"This is the number one show in the business and it will stay that way for a long time and you are a big part of it," he continued. "So, thank you for all the service, because it is really service."

Dusey said he will spend some time with his children and grandchildren and then play a new role in the show.
