apple Epic Games Title Fortnite was approved Tuesday to return the first-person shooter to the U.S. App Store, which is five years after it was demolished.

EPIC updated the game over the web to make payments directly, rather than through Apple's in-app payment mechanism, and the company was launched in 2020, which costs up to 30%. The move angered Apple and began a one-year legal battle.

Last month, Epic won in court when the judge ruled that Apple would not allow Apple to charge commissions when the app link paid or indicated whether the link looked like a button. Epic said last week that it had submitted Fortnite to the U.S. App Store. To return, Fortnite must review the app through Apple's process, Apple employees review new apps or updates to ensure they work and follow company guidelines.

Apple has dragged out the app approval process since EPIC submitted it to Apple on May 9. Last week, EPIC raised a legal challenge, and on Monday, a judge said Apple had to explain why Fortnite had not been approved, or had resolved the epic resolution as Epic.

Apple is appealing the latest court order and hopes to suspend it so it can back down the response the company has made to the App Store. Apple representatives did not immediately return a request for comment.

Last month's ruling led major application manufacturers, such as Amazon and Spotify Change its app to fit the link to the purchased content. For example, users can now purchase Kindle Books in the Kindle app on their iPhone.

Amazon and Spotify are able to update existing applications that have enabled changes through last month's orders. After Epic sued Apple, iPhone Maker also revoked Epic's developer account in addition to booting Fortnite.

EPIC has been able to obtain a European developer account and now offers Fortnite in Europe through the Digital Markets Act third-party app store, which went into effect last year. iPhone users can also play Fortnite through cloud gaming services. But even in Europe, Apple is trying to terminate Epic's account before retreating.

The fees Apple receives from the App Store are becoming increasingly important. They are reported in Apple's services business, which also includes advertising, app warranty, payments and subscription products such as Apple TV+. Apple reported nearly $27 billion in service revenue in the March quarter.
