A former WWE wrestler was indicted by a Tennessee grand jury after allegedly attempting to buy child pornography in 2024.

Michael Droese, who traveled in Duke's "Dubberban" Duke Droese during a 1994-96 wrestling day, faces one count of attempted sexual exploitation of a minor.

Tennessee's 31st Judicial District Attorney General Chris Stanford announced the indictment in a press release Monday.

"This allegation has become aggravated because Mr. Dreus intends to purchase child sexual assault materials," Stanford University said in a press release. "Purchasing child sexual assault materials is a serious crime because the money used to purchase the material is to continue to make the child sexual assault substance profitable to criminal businesses that are produced and sold worldwide."

Droese attempted to buy child pornography on the dark web using a Coinbase account on April 21, 2024, according to a press release. The company terminated the purchase and marked it in the process.

The FBI was filed with an attempted purchase by Droese, who later told Jason Walker of the Warren County Sheriff's Department in March.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation was taken to the Sheriff’s Department and eventually introduced DeRos.

After the grand jury sued him, Droese handed over himself. He was booked with the Warren County Sheriff's Department and was released after a $10,000 margin was issued.

The release notes that Droese has been working with the 31st Judicial District Adult Recovery Court Program, also known as the "Drug Court." He is the DUI coordinator there, while also working for the program with other abilities before his current position.

Stanford University said Droese did not work with any children during the program and he was terminated since then.

However, a 2009 WWE article said that DeRos has moved to Tennessee after his career and became an elementary school teacher for special education students. He was later forced to leave work after selling oxycodone to an undercover official in 2013.
