Former NFL player Milton Stegall's son finds dead in a Chicago dormitory

Chase Stegall, member of DeWall University's men's football team, former son NFL Player Milton Stegall was found dead on the school’s Chicago campus Monday morning, according to reports and school officials. He is 20 years old.

Vice President and Athletics Principal Dewayne Peevy and head coach Mark Plotkin issued a joint statement Monday afternoon confirming the news of Stegall's death.

"We have accidentally lost Chase Stegall's accidental loss for the precious members of the community, dedicated teammates and kind friends," the statement began.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with Chase's family, friends, teammates and everyone who loves him. Over the next few days, we will support Chase's family and teammates in this devastating time. His losses will be deeply felt throughout our track and field and college families, and his memories will forever be part of Depaul."

Student-run newspapers, depaulia, Stigl “passed through his dorm at the University Lincoln Park campus,” reported Tuesday. The cause of death has not been revealed.

Chase is the former son Cincinnati Bengali Receiver Milton Stegall played for three seasons in the NFL before 14 years in the Canadian Football League.

Milt Stegall is a CFL All-Star nine times and has set multiple records, including most professional touchdowns and single-season touchdown records.

Chase Stegall is a sophomore at DePaul University. He played 16 games last season and his only goal against Drake this season. He is football I haven't seen any of his freshman games this year.
