The awkward interview triggered a lot of scrutiny.

“I say this: I think Carolina’s tar heels should consider firing Bill Bellicchik,” Johnson, who plays for Bellicchik, said at the station. "They should consider letting him go at this point. It's a lot of money and they're getting deeper into the process next year.

"But I looked at Bill Belichick and I wondered if he was a good fit for coaching an NFL team, let alone a college team, and I worked harder on the character and personality of a college coach, not my concern for a professional coach. So I was worried that Bill Belichick was not a good fit for coaching college students, and UNC should be in touch with Bill Belichick."

Belichick's relationship with Hudson has been increasingly attracting attention, even though he worked in football with Tar Heels. According to track and field, Belichick asked Hudson to copy it in an email.

When she posted an email from Belichick on April 10, she tried to stop some Flak, who lamented the media coverage of his book.

Johnson’s colleague Andy Hart believes North Carolina should honor Berichick in any way. Johnson called Belichick's partnership a "wrong decision" from a business and football perspective. He noted that Hudson was attending the spring practice and posted an email on her Instagram.

“To me, these bad decisions, made him and the college look really bad, and questioned whether he had a sound mind and should run a football team at the University of North Carolina. I think it’s just something you have to really, really consider,” he said. “For these reasons, it’s just a question of the head coach’s decision.”

Johnson was with The Fatriots from 1995 to 2004. He participated in 125 games and had 11.5 sacks.
