A Florida man was arrested in a forest area in Washington County, where he allegedly attacked a woman and detained her in an escaped storage container.
David Earl Gipson, 40, was arrested for sexual assault, aggravated assault and false imprisonment, the Washington County Sheriff's Office said.
The undisclosed woman was severely beaten and needed medical care when emergency medical services and law enforcement responded to the scene, deputies said.
The sheriff's office said the victim said Gibson visited her residence and quickly became angry and began attacking her. She also allegedly told deputies that he bound and blocked her while beating her and threatening to kill her.

Gibson was also accused of sexually assaulting her, beating her with a pistol and blunt weapon, and dragging her out of the house.
According to the WCSO, he allegedly took her to his residence with his mother-in-law's vehicle, where he continued to abuse her - and later placed her in a container in the yard.
"She was still handcuffed and piped in her naked mouth," Sheriff Kevin Crews said in a press conference about the victim's condition. "He put the rope around her neck and stuffed her legs under her. If you can imagine the appearance of a pig tie, that's what he did to her. She said she was hot and thought she would suffocate."

Eventually, the woman was able to loosen her legs and kick off the plywood containing her to release herself.
"She got rid of the shed and ran for a lifetime," the sheriff said. "Once, she told us that once she left the house, she moved her away with a tree - her back was handcuffed - she used a tree to remove the tape around her mouth.
Another 74-year-old Lettie Cooper Collins, who also happened to be the mother-in-law of the original victim, was found dead at her home and beaten to "pulp." The sheriff said.
Gipson had about 33 felony charges, dating back to 1999, the sheriff's office said, adding that he was jailed eight times.
He was charged with multiple counts of burglary, including armed burglary and arson.
