FBI discovered caches of guns, armor and Nazi utensils while raiding home in Washington state

SEATTLE - Law enforcement discovered during Tuesday's raid on a house in Washington state, including machine guns and grenade launchers, including machine guns and grenade launchers, authorities said Tuesday.

Thurston County Sheriff-elect Derek Sanders said in a Facebook post that the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Department seeks assistance from his office on Monday as the FBI Special Weapons and Tactics team executed a search warrant at Lacey, Olympia, “due to violent robbery and weapons/armor burglary.”

The U.S. attorney's office in Seattle said in a statement to the Associated Press Tuesday night that the search warrant was linked to the Army CID and FBI investigation into the attack at Lewis-McCord, a joint base north of Olympia.

The two were arrested and booked in Thurston County Jail to investigate gun-related offenses, Sanders' statement said.

"The suspect identified in this case was actively involved in the efforts of the Nazi white nationalists," he wrote.

Sanders did not immediately return to the message Tuesday night for comment.

Army investigators identified the suspect in the attack on the military base, and the FBI executed a search warrant Monday night to early Tuesday morning, a U.S. attorney's office statement said.

The FBI said in comment that its Seattle office “assisted our partners Thurston County Sheriff’s Office and the Army’s Criminal Investigation Department” and asked them questions.

Additional information is expected to be included in the federal criminal complaint and will be unveiled Wednesday. The two people who were arrested are expected to make their first appearance in the U.S. District Court in Tacoma on Wednesday afternoon.

Sanders said in his post that agents occupied 35 guns at home, including short barrels and an MG42 machine gun - a type that is usually supported by Bipods and was used by German troops during World War II. Other gears captured include grenade launchers, explosives, body armor, ammunition and ballistic helmets, as well as multiple rifles staged throughout the windows of the residence, the sheriff said.

He posted photos at home showing a series of weapons, ammunition and body armor surrounded by Nazi appliances, including a red Nazi flag with black swastika.
