President Donald Trump asked Friday whether an under-constructed football stadium in Queens in New York will be available for the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028 and played a round of mockery on social media. (Watch the video below.)

In a stop in Abu Dhabi, an official showed the president to Atihad Park of the NYFF’s Major League Soccer Club. (Etihad Airways is a national airline in the United Arab Emirates.)
Trump noted that he grew up in Queens and knew the area very well. The site is “the place they use to repair cars and many other things have been addressed,” he said.
Trump asked: "Will they use it in the Olympics?"

Trump later pointed out that the 2026 World Cup and the Olympics in the United States are approaching, which may be where his confusion begins.

Etihad Park is expected to operate during the 2027 Major League Soccer season, so it is conceivable (although highly unlikely) to use it for Los Angeles games. (Olympic officials have not announced any other football stadiums than the Rose Bowl.
Olympic football matches, including last summer’s Paris Games, often play outside the host country. The 1984 Los Angeles Olympics even used Harvard University and Naval Academy.
Despite this, Trump critics still have a ball called him:
