Ever wonder what it would be like to face to face with a sports legend like Tom Brady? OK, now it's OK.
The company announced Tuesday that the Global Sports Platform is a global sports platform that introduces a “first” skill competition at its second annual Fanatics Festival, from team shirts and collectibles to online gambling. The second annual Fanatics Festival will be held in New York City and allows sports fans to compete with athletes and celebrities in eight "unique sports-themed skills challenges." The statement said.
The planned matches for fans include Tom Brady, Odell Beckham Jr. fanatics say Rodriguez, Seth Rollins, CJ Stroud and Russell Wilson will announce more.
The snap-up is a $2 million prize that includes $1 million in cash for the first winner and a Ferrari 812 GTS for the second place. LeBron James' trading card is worth up to $250,000. Fanatics Fest website says that without fans in the top three, the highest scorers will receive $100,000.
The challenge will include every sports fan, such as the NHL-Washer-Dryer Puck shooting game, NBA round-world basketball, FIFA-CAL-COAL score, NFL game, quarterback skills will be tested for fans, and more. Fans say that while only the competitor’s six best results can be calculated, each game will get fans to score.
To enter, fans were asked to submit a short video showing their sports skills and explaining why they should be selected. "Your story, tips, dunks, your catch - whatever makes you stand out. We want to see it," the Fanatics Fest website says.
Fifty fans will eventually be selected to participate in the game, fanatics said.
According to Fanatics, last year’s inaugural Fanatics Festival attracted 70,000 sports fans, hundreds of athletes and celebrities. This year's event will be held at the Javits Center in New York from June 20-22.
"I'm absolutely incredible to see the sheer joy, excitement and enthusiasm of all the fans who played our first event last summer, and I'm so excited to bring Fanatics back to New York City this June," said Michael Rubin, CEO of Fanatics, in December.
