"Evil", "Nosferatu" wins in Costume Designer Award 2025: Complete List

"Evil" and "Conference" were the biggest winners of the 27th Costume Designers Association Award Thursday night.

This is the second instance of the Guild, awarded to "evil" designer Paul Tazewell. He won the excellence, reality competition or live TV category in 2021 with Hamilton's Hamilton. Tazewell has become a leader in Oscar clothing. If he eventually wins, he will make history the first black man to win the academy category.

In the outstanding performance of the period film category, Linda Muir won for his work at Nosferatu.

The award recognizes outstanding performance in film, television and short-term clothing design and is hosted by Jackie Tohn.

Tohn announced that the guild will auction out costumes for movies and TV to support the IATSE Emergency Relief Fund. Among the items sold at auction are the costumes of "Dragon House", the "Evil" Shiz University costumes and Bob Mackie Cher Sketches.

Brigitta Romanov, executive director of the Association of Fashion Designers, reminded the room about the power of solidarity. Romanov said: "When the challenge emerges, we are not alone. We stand together. Over the past year, this unity has taken action in a truly important way as Los Angeles faces devastating wildfires, spreading throughout entertainment," he said. The union did not hesitate. The Association of Costume Designers, along with teammates, basic crafts, SAG AFTRA, DGA, WGA and many others, jointly support the victims to remind our community that no one has been forgotten during times of crisis.”

"Resilience, perseverance and solidarity are the hallmarks of our community," said the guild president Terry Ann Gordon.

Janelle Monáe, who won the Vanguard Spotlight Award, said: "I cherish being welcomed by this community. I love being part of a non-binary community. I love that I love transgender.
I love being part of LGBTQIA. I love my working-class parents, and people like my grandmother, beautiful immigrants, cooking my food and cleaning the house. "Moni continued, "I love the teacher who teaches our children. I love to spend hours, days, weeks, months of workers making clothes for us. I love them, so I want to dedicate this award to you. Without these people, our world will collapse. ”

Zoe Saldaña won the Spotlight Award. During the speech, the actress thanked the guild and said: "You know that some actors have specific projects to decide on your role, or by having a clear understanding of what they are wearing. That's not me. I'm not a trained one. Actor, I spent most of my time preparing a character to breathe into a paper bag, trying not to panic completely. "Saldaña continued: "I think that's why I rely so heavily on the work you do. I have always loved working with fashion designers. I am a granddaughter and great-granddaughter and the daughter of a tailor. ”
