Erling Haaland has signed a record-breaking 9.5-year contract with Manchester City, the club announced on Friday.
The striker is contracted at the Etihad Stadium until 2027, but has extended it until 2034.
City have yet to reveal the exact amount, but sources told ESPN it is one of the most lucrative contracts in sports history.
The 24-year-old's new contract also removes the buyout clause included in his contract when he moved from Borussia Dortmund in 2022.
The 9.5-year contract is the longest contract signed by a player in Premier League history, surpassing the nine-year contract Cole Palmer signed with Chelsea in August 2024.
Haaland has been heavily linked with a future move to Spain, with Real Madrid and Barcelona both expressing interest in the past.
However, the Norwegian's new contract will now keep him at City beyond his 33rd birthday.
Haaland said: "I'm really pleased to have signed a new contract and look forward to spending more time at this great club."
“Manchester City is a special club, full of great talent and great supporters, and it’s an environment that helps bring out the best in everyone.
"I would also like to thank Pep (Guardiola), his coaching staff, my team-mates and everyone at the club because they have helped me a lot over the past few years.
"They make it so special and no matter what, now I am Manchester City. Now I want to keep developing, keep trying to get better and try my best to help us be more successful."
Haaland scored 79 goals in 87 games, ranking 61st on the Premier League's all-time goalscoring list. The Premier League record is 260 games, held by Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer. At the current rate, Haaland will break this record in the 2029-30 season.
In a post on X, Shearer teased the length of Haaland's new contract and his efforts to overhaul his goalscoring record.
"Congratulations @ErlingHaaland... nine and a half years? Surely it didn't take you that long?" Shearer said.
News of Haaland's transfer is another boost for City after Guardiola agreed a new contract last November. His contract will keep him at the Etihad until 2027.
Haaland has enjoyed remarkable success since joining Manchester City 2.5 years ago. He scored 111 goals in 126 games for the club and won two Premier League titles, the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League.
