Erin Patterson Murder: Witnesses continue to provide evidence on the tenth day of the Mushroom Case | Victoria
Key Events
Professor Rhonda Stuart asks about Erin’s mushroom source
The doctor told the court:
One of the types comes from supermarkets, and the top is plastic, she said. She said she got another pack from Asian food stores a few weeks ago.
Stewart said that Irene said she no longer packs dried mushrooms from Asian grocers.
She said they were in the pack, but she unpacked them and placed them in a container.
Stewart said Erin told her that Asian grocery stores had been in Oakleigh or Glen Waverley.
She said she didn't remember it, but maybe if she drove past the store, she would recognize it.
She did say they had a strong smell.
Stewart said she asked Erin if she had ever been foraging for food by mushrooms. The court heard that Erin told her that she did not, and only used the store-bought mushrooms.
Stewart said Erin asked her why she asked:
I said I tried to make sure there were no public health issues.
No cross-examination.
Professor Rhonda Stuart talks about Erin Patterson's interview in the emergency room
Professor Rhonda Stuart It was said that she interviewed Erin while in the emergency department of Monash Hospital.
She told me that she came because her children need to be checked out because there is lunch there and was worried that they might get infected as well.
She said she provided some meals to the kids the next day but scraped off the mushroom paste.
She said the next day, Sunday, she suffered from gastritis-type symptoms.
Stewart said Erin told her the dishes she had cooked for lunch:
She told me that she made a beef wellington and she made the beef wellington with mushroom sauce.
