Adoption of major emerging technologies slowed slightly in the first quarter of 2025, a new survey showed.
GlobalData Technical Emotional Poll Survey Q1 2025 Industry respondents now believe that six of the most important emerging technologies will take longer to disrupt their sectors, or they may not be longer than before, the survey shows.

During the same period, the proportion of its sectors has increased from 38% to 41% (+3pp), from 38% to 47% (+9pp), from 47% to 52%, from 52% to 52% (+52%), +42% (+52%), +46% (+52%), +46% (+52%), +46% (+52%), +46% (+52%), +42% (+52%), +46% (+52%), +42% (+52%), +46% (+52%), (52%) (52%) (52%) (52%) (52%). 67% (+5pp) of robotics, 77% to 80% (+3pp) of augmented reality. The decline in the meta-assessment fell from 84% to 83%.
Although the report does not justify such a response, the investigation was conducted between January and March this year, consistent with the first two and a half months of the new Trump administration in the United States and the global uncertainty it has brought. Through the rise of the global trading system, through a thorough, strict and scattered muzzle tariff agenda, and the lack of clarity on the intention of the ongoing U.S. invasion of Russia's ongoing invasion of Ukraine, businesses suspended both aspects of their thinking.
Nevertheless, survey respondents remained stable to the overall value of technology. 91% think robotics will live up to all its hype, or it has 88% cybersecurity, 89% for AI, 87% for cloud computing, 74% for augmented reality, and 71% for IoT. However, only 26% have the same belief in the Meta Islands, while 60% think it's all hype and no substance.
