Eli Roth's "Ice Cream Man" is sold worldwide after the Cannes market debut

Horror icon Eli Roth will offer another twisted treat to audiences around the world, his latest spine-Ice Cream Man “Ice Cream Man,” which will add a range of international sales after its Cannes market debut.

The film, backed by Media Capital Technology (MCT) and part of Ross' newly released horror label The Horror, has ended a new release deal with Gentzos Movies (Greece), Sun (Latin America and Spain), Selim Ramia (Mid-East), Mis.label (Scandinavia), King of America (Israel), Praessy (Praise), PRAESMIN (PRAESMIM), PRAESINE (PRAESMM), Selim Ramia (Selim Ramia (Mid-East), Selim Ramia (Mid-East). Films (Philippines), BIR films (Turkey), Vertical (Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria), Blitz movies and video releases (Former Yugoslavia), AQS (Czech Republic and Slovakia) and Acme Film (Baltics).

This is after a major acquisition last week by Studiocanal’s Sixth Dimension, which seized rights in the UK, Germany, France, Benex, Poland, Australia and New Zealand.

"I'm so excited for the 'Ice Cream Man' to sweep the world," Ross said in his latest acquisition. "The entire team of WME Independent and MCT did a great job of positioning this movie as my next big franchise, and I've heard listeners screaming around the world. I scream. You guys scream. We're all screaming for the 'Ice Cream Man'. It's going to get sticky."

The plot of the film remains mostly in the parcel, but early logs teased a battle story set in a seemingly idyllic summer town, and it goes crazy as kids start to get sinister “treat” from a mysterious ice cream vendor. The shooting is scheduled to begin in Canada this summer. Ross previously called the project "my most horrible, craziest movie to date."

MCT principal Christopher Woodrow and Raj Singh said from Cannes: “It’s an exciting week for ‘Ice Cream Man’ because the instant interest of this film shows that what we know is real, and it’s the beginning of the next great horror series. We can’t wait for listeners around the world to experience the movie and be part of the fanaticism.”

Founded in a professional finance company, MCT focuses on advanced content investments, providing funding to major studios, India and IP holders. Its supporters include a range of institutional investors, including Volkswagen.

In March, Roth teamed up with MCT to launch the horror section of a 360-degree-focused content company. The Horror section plans to build a global horror brand involving movies, TV, games, podcasts and live experiences. MCT supports joint ventures for project financing, corporate strategy and day-to-day operations.

WME Independent is handling the sale of "Ice Cream Man" internationally and introduces the film to a buyer in Cannes. Ross is represented by WME. MCT was rejected by CAA.
