Strategic moves will affect the operations of Dystar Hilton Davis, which has been producing food, drug and cosmetic dyes (FD&C), drug and cosmetic dyes (D&C), lakes, technical dyes and pigment dispersants.
Production of the facility is scheduled to cease on June 30, under the company's strategy to simplify and enhance its manufacturing operations in the Americas.
After this phase of the organization's merger strategy is completed, Dystar's operations in the Americas will be conducted primarily from facilities in Riddsville, North Carolina and Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Xu Yalin, Managing Director and President of Enstar Group, said: “We believe that the success of the strategic plan will enable DyStar to determine decisive responses to fundamental changes occurring in the industry and enable us to increase profitability while maintaining strategic product development capabilities and accelerating growth over the long term.”
Regarding the closure, Dystar will work with all involved parties, including employees, customers, suppliers and partners to mitigate any adverse impact on business activities and promote a seamless global transition.
The company promises to be in line with integrity and comply with all commitments authorized by the company's policies, collective bargaining agreements and legal authorizations.
During the transition period, Dounstar will provide the necessary assistance to affected employees, including providing affected employees with opportunities to seek positions in other DyStar areas of the Americas.
The company aims to minimize disruptions to business operations and ensure the continuous supply of FD&C and D&C dyes, lakes, technical dyes and pigment dispersions from other websites in its global network without compromising quality or sustainability.
“Based on our global capabilities and resources, the master plan enhances Dystar’s strong commitment to strategic investment, product and service excellence and productivity improvements that will drive our company, customers and industries forward,” said Clement Yang, Vice President of Global Manufacturing at Enstar Group.
The company has a global workforce of more than 1,500 people, spread across 50 countries and manages 13 production facilities.
In 2023, Dounstar reorganized its Ludwighfen facility in Germany, which includes diversified production activities and reduced manpower outside Europe.
