Alonso, who brought Leverkusen to the league and the Cup last year in his first full season, announced that he would leave the club on Friday, with the Spaniard's possible destination being Real Madrid.
Leverkusen's championship defense was in a 2-2 draw at Freiburg last Sunday, but home fans were in the mood to celebrate, and a year later, Alonso brought them into their first league title in 120-year history.
Before the game began, Leverkusen celebrated Alonso's time at the club, with fans chanting "Danke Xabi" and holding up signs with photos of the Basque coach, but Dortmund had no doubts.
The hosts dominate the opening period, fixing Dortmund in half of his own. Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel has only some spectacular savings, who paused seven stops just before halftime, leaving Leverkusen in the bay.

Leverkusen's pressure finally told 31 minutes, Florian Wirtz passed through the free throw area, attracted three defenders, and threw the ball to Frimpong, who put a curl to the top corner.
Dortmund left almost half of himself, but the goal brought them to life. Two minutes later, the visitors were evenly balanced and Adeyemi cut the ball to get Brandt hammered home.
Brandt designed the second minute of Dortmund two minutes before the break, won a goal near the sideline and found Pascal Gross' cross, who spind and lifted Ryerson to shoot a low-speed shot into the net.
Adeyemi and Guirassy both got braces in a 4-0 win over Wolfsburg last week, and they entered the scoring slice in four quarters of the game time.

Guirassy scored 33 goals in 44 games in his first season at Dortmund.
Wirtz was linked to the summer departure, setting a late goal of comfort for Jonas Hofmann during downtime.
Alonso will coach Leverkusen again in Mainz next week, but Leverkusen is unable to complete any game above or below second.
Now, Dortmund is now behind Freiburg, fourth, and has one more game.
Eintracht Frankfurt could make the Champions League a place when he hosted St Pauli later Sunday, while German Cup finalist Stuttgart played at Augsburg at home.
