Donnie Wahlberg went to great lengths to save "Blue Blood" before walking away and focusing on creating spin-offs.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, the actor explained that everyone involved in the drama crime series is “so hard” to keep the series alive, but the Reagan family tradition will live in the form of “Boston Blue.”

“When it ends, we thought, ‘Well, some networks will say, let’s keep going.’ No one comes, it’s like we’re all denying it,” he said of “Blue Blood.”

Wahlberg explained that opportunity emerged as an opportunity to produce “Boston Blue.”

"It's very heavy, you know?" he said. "How do I do this? Like (his character) Danny Reagan keeps going? You know, how we create this new world for this character and how we do that in another city rather than in New York?"

Wahlberg explained that everyone involved in "Blue Blood" was important to him, from actors and crew to dining and props departments.

“They become part of our family. You know, the audience is saying, ‘How do we continue to have “blue blood” derivatives without the entire family?’ I share. He asked.

"Blue Blood" is a drama that the Reagans family has participated in the New York Police Department. Valberg told Fox News numbers that he can’t give too much for “Boston Blue,” but Reagan is always just a “call.”

"It's definitely a challenge to seize this opportunity, but I've always said to myself that if I really want to 'Blue Blood' to keep going, it's an opportunity," he said.

"Now, it's just Danny going to this new world, but I can't say a lot about it - but I can say that if he was Reagan, it would never be just Danny. There's always a Reagan calling. And the tradition of Reese, Danny won't give up those traditions."

CBS announced in February that Wahlberg will retake Danny Reagan's role on "Boston Blue." The rest of the cast has not yet announced that the series will debut in the fall.
