Special prosecutor Jack Smith says the government has enough evidence to convict Donald Trump if he is not re-elected. Were it not for the Justice Department's long-standing policy of not prosecuting a sitting president, a report into Trump's alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election would have been before a Washington jury.
