Did Wyatt Russell finally break with Thunderbolts?

As the son of the Hollywood Royal Family, Wyatt Russell lived in the spotlight all his life.

But the 38-year-old Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell actor descendants – and Kate Hudson’s brother (“We are half siblings, but we’re full,” he said) – is used to not being recognized, or at least not identified as the person behind an impressive character, and a distinct and well-known job.

“I got a lot of people, like, 'Wait-You're from the surfer Cabin 49 And from Under the banner of heaven? Or, ``Damn- Black Mirror Is the plot also John Walker? '” Russell said.

But since its release in April Thunder and lightning*, all of this seems to be changing, and very quickly. Disney/Marvel issued a global bonus of $372 million and gained credibility for adding the dying superhero genre.

Russell's John Walker - Captain America's Promising Mercenary, who is at Disney+'s Falcon and winter soldiers - is a breakthrough, stealing scenes with ironic lines reading and elegant athletic ability in action sequences. (Russell, a professional hockey player who played goalkeeper in the UEFA Europa League until his injury gave him a career ahead of his career, spinning the show.)

Russell's next two films are Steven Spielberg's secret science fiction project and Avengers: The End of the World. He caught up Hollywood Reporter Talk about the A-list that is about to graduate.

Hi Wyatt. What happened to your world these days?

I've been traveling like a lunatic. I spent a month in London. Before that, I was doing all the media Thunder and lightning*I just got in Avengers: The End of the World thing. My wife and I are trying to juggle careers by attending parents, which sometimes feels impossible, but we are making it work.

But I must be very happy to be busy. Especially in the state of entertainment business.

It's great to be busy. I know the business seems strange. The night before, I was with my friend Glen Powell and we both liked: “God, we were lucky to be working and doing these jobs at the same time.” The business is in a very stylish place.

OK, congratulations Thunder and lightning*. I really like it. It looks different and I am very interesting. Especially you - not even knowing that's your mask.

Very happy to hear it. We work hard for this. Director Jake Schreier Cabin 49This is a very interesting show I did on AMC years ago. We have become very good friends. He called me, “So I’m interviewing for this job, Thunder and lightning*, you are inside. "If you've ever seen an episode Cabin 49you thought I was happy to think these two guys would make a miracle movie together. Then he got closer and I was like, "Oh my goodness, is this going to happen?" Then he called me and he said, "I got a job." I couldn't believe it. I was like, “Oh my God—they made the right choice.”

When I told my colleague that I was going to interview you, he mentioned Cabin 49 Big book. I haven't even heard of it. So I started watching it. I've seen the first two now and I'm fascinated.

I've always wanted to do something completely different from the last one, and this is perhaps not the best way to get people to know someone in today's day and age. I mean literally before I auditioned, like, “Well, can he be vulnerable? Hollywood isn’t full of the most creative people in most cases. They just get rid of what they see, but Cabin 49writing (creator Jim Gavin) is great. It's an existential performance, not an eye. I like it, and critics love it. But it was a strange time and didn't improve effectively.

It's even hard to describe what it is.

These are things I mainly tend toward. That's why when Marvel came, I thought, "This is not what I'm going to do." But I kept saying, "Don't marry what you think you are. You have to listen to the universe a little bit." I'm glad I did because I hope I can bring more characters to this character than just a traditional superhero standing like they have a suitcase.

So, what is the name of your miracle hero?

His name is John Walker and his superhero name is American Agent.

He has no more flashing name than this.

I don't have a cooler name.

I'm reading Wikipedia from Disney+ series Falcon and winter soldiersyou made your debut as John Walker. Kevin Feige said Miracle intends to choose a white actor to play John Walker - to convey the political choices of the U.S. government to make white people Captain America. Is this the decline of everything?

No, I don't think so. I mean, that's Wikipedia nonsense. He is a white man in the comics, a zealous war hero who turns into a superhero by the government in nothing left by Steve Rogers (played by Chris Evans). Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) doesn't want a shield, so they need someone to accept it. They hired the decorative veteran guy when all the insecurities of him bringing superhero serum surfaced. That's what I'm interesting about the character - you can play an unsafe superhero who is still good at his job but needs to learn about yourself to achieve it fully.

So there is an arc that I can play, how many series or movies, but still makes the characters fun. That's what I like. John Walker I attended Falcon and winter soldiers The 2020 version is completely different from Thunder and lightning*I think it will be completely different again Avengers: The End of the World.

How far are you shooting?

We started about a month and a half.

Is there a difference between making a TV show and going to be a feature film? Is it more stressful, has a bigger budget, and has a bigger collection?

This is just a concentrated story. The TV show era is fun, but the movie is more of an event. These Marvel movies are event movies and they feel what they mean. Then you go out for the premiere and the press, and that's a bigger thing. Feel bigger. Apart from "one event", I don't know what to say.

These shows aren't too much of a show on Disney+, they're either good. Then you see this way of extinguishing. This is not the greatest. It wasn't surprising to them, but it was an interesting swing. And I think Bob Iger said in the comments that they have restored more than the number of equality. I think this is obviously smart.

Do you feel like an outsider like me suddenly noticed and passed Thunder and lightning*? Have you changed?

really. My career has been a strange one. I'm a Mormon killer Under the banner of heaven. Then I was playing John Walker. People are putting the pieces together now.

I only recently realized you are the secret of Richard Linklater 30-year-old guy Everyone wants some!. I like that movie.

Yes. So it's like having 17 years of work, more people putting the work together, "Oh, damn, wait, that one in Black Mirror The plot is John Walker. "so Thunder* Strangely, people think about me as an actor. "Wait, are you that guy?!" I thought, "Yes."

It's fun - your parents have such a powerful role. Everyone knows exactly that they are early. Interestingly, you are this chameleon.

I don't know why that is. I was talking to Steven Spielberg the other day. I just finished his next movie and it was always fun to talk to him, obviously on the scene. We are talking about when I play hockey. I realized when talking to him, “Hey, what do you know? I like to be these different roles and these different people are because when I play hockey, I tend to be goalkeepers – because I can wear a mask!” In hockey, goalkeepers wear masks. You can't see his face. This makes a lot of sense to me when I explain it.

This seems to be a slow and steady burn. Now, it comes with fruit you might have wanted earlier, but your dedication is starting to pay off.

I hope so. You do your best and then as you work hard over the years, the business will change. Now they don't make movie stars. They didn't do the same number of projects four years ago. So you have been in this world that you have been adapting to. That's the only thing you can do. I'm very lucky.

I want to ask your mom Goldie Hawn because she was vaguely visible in my childhood. Her movies are my favorite, especially Foul game and Private Benjamin. When you pay tribute to her on stage this year, you're at the Oscars?

No, I'm not. But I used to text Andrew, like, “Hey, had a great time.” He and my mom were so nice, I loved him so much.

This is a very touching moment.

Really, really. Of course, this made me cry.
