Can the Detroit Tigers continue to win the best American League team?
Detroit Tigers radio analyst Bobby joined the Roaring Day to break the team’s early success formula, and Spencer Torkelson’s tweak.
Detroit Tigers right-hander Jack Flaherty never allowed four home runs in a game during his nine-year Major League Baseball career, but the situation changed against the Texas Rangers on May 10.
He surrendered four home runs in three innings.
This is the shortest start for the Tigers pitchers this season.
The Tigers (26-14) lost 10-3 to the Rangers in the second of three games at Comerica Park, winning five straight wins in their biggest defeat of the season so far, a short seller for 40,844 fans.
Flaherty ran five runs with four strikeouts and two shots. The 29-year-old threw 73 balls in three innings, averaging nearly 25 courts per inning – before the Tigers pulled him.
As Flaherty struggles, the tramp right-handed Jacob Degrom stole the show.

In 2018-19, DeGrom won the National League CY Young with 2.05 ERA and 524 strikeouts in 421 innings. Since then, he has averaged only nine games per season while fighting injuries.
He reminds people of the old-fashioned derkert disease of tigers.

The 36-year-old ran twice on five hits and one walk and struck out 10 in five innings, throwing 90 balls. The two runs were Kerry Carpenter's solo home run in the first inning, Riley Greene in the fourth inning.
DeGrom's first six outs came from strikeouts.
He used even fastballs and sliders in the first four innings and collected all 10 strikeouts in the first four.
Four home runs Flaherty.
Give all your strength.
Surprisingly, considering the left-handed batsman made the .190 game with OPS against Flaherty at 0.572.
Four home runs: Josh Smith hit a lone home run on Flaherty’s slider and Corey Seager hit Flaherty’s fastball in the first inning. Evan Carter hit Flaherty's fastball in the second inning. Joc Pederson hit Flaherty’s fastball for two home runs in the third inning.
After four home runs, it's 5-1 Rangers.

Flaherty - The Tigers started the 2.95 ERA with the Tigers in 2024 after the death of other teams.
In 2025, Flaherty was responsible for the 4.61 ERA in eight starts. He has allowed at least four runs in the last three games and faced the Houston Astros on April 28, the Los Angeles Angels on May 3 and the Rangers on May 10.
One of Flaherty’s most eye-catching changes from 2024 to 2025?
His four-second fastball rate dropped from 23.9% to 11%, including eight swings against the Rangers. He no longer lost bats with fastballs - the increase in bats caused more damage.
Left-handed rescuer Tyler Holton is healthy, but the Tigers aren't using him as he allows for a closer connection throughout his MLB career. He entered the seventh inning and pitched for the first time since May 2.
Holton threw Seager's solo home run at 91.3 mph.
Rangers led 8-2.
Afterwards, Holton sent the next three batsmen to avoid further losses: Pederson took root, Marcus Semien flew out, and Adolis García waved.
Holton has a 3.12 ERA, with five walks and 17 strikeouts in 17 innings in 15 games, which is worse than his 2.11 ERA in 2023 and 2.19 ERA in 2024.
