Onyx Collective is developing a new iteration of the new ABC series, “Desperate Housewife”, type Confirmed.
The project is currently titled "Wirantina Lane". Natalie Chaidez is attached to writing and executive products, produced by Kerry Washington and Pilar Savone Executive via Simpson Street. Shiny Penny's Stacey Sher is also a production by the executive. TV 20 is the studio. Simpson Street is currently reaching a total of 20th TV.
According to official logic, the show "revolves around a group of five very different friends, sometimes fanatics, who all live on a perfect Cul de sac called "Wisteria Lane". On the surface, all the wisteria neighbors are in their dreams.
The original "Desperate Housewife" was created by Marc Cherry. It aired eight seasons and nearly 200 episodes on ABC from 2004 to 2012. The soap opera took a blow from the start and boasted about cast members including Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross and Eva Longoria. The show received 38 Emmy nominations throughout the competition, Huffman won Best Actress in Comedy in 2005, and Kathryn Joosten won two comedy in Comedy. The series was originally produced by ABC Studios, which was absorbed into TV 20 in October 2024.
Development News deepens Simpson Street’s relationship with Onyx Collective. Content brands are currently airing the popular legal drama "reasonable doubt" produced by Simpson Street. The show enters its third season. Simpson Street also produced the agate comedy No Rule, which Washington also starred in with Delroy Lindo.
Simpson Street was rejected by CAA, Washington Square Arts and Gretchen Bruggeman Rush Huy Nguyen.
Chaidez is recently the co-showroom of the show’s acclaimed Max series “The Flight Assant” for the second season. She is also a performer of the American online TV series "The Queen of the South" and has worked on other shows such as "Heroes", "12 Monkeys", "Simple Sight" and "terminator: the Terminator: the Sarah Connor Chronicles".
She was rejected by CAA and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
