U.S. lawmakers continue to advocate gun control by pushing for a ban on assault weapons.
The 2025 Assault Weapons Ban stipulates that it is illegal for a person to import, sell, sell, transfer or possess, or to affect the import, sale, manufacture, transfer or possession of semi-automatic assault weapons in state or foreign business - it also includes the same prohibition related to "large-capacity ammunition feeding equipment."
However, this measure will be the grandfathers of those who currently own such items.
The text states that the ban “does not apply to any semi-automatic attack weapon or transfer legally owned under federal law on the date of the 2025 ban on assault weapons ban or transfer “or “own any large-capacity ammunition feeding device otherwise in assault weapons ban ban of 2022.

According to a Schiff press release, Sen. Adam Schiff, a Democratic Californian, leads California’s democratic wisdom. It also calls 37 Senate Democrats a co-proposal.

The measure is almost certainly not going forward through any Republican-controlled congressional hall.
Many Americans oppose such legislation, believing that it would represent unconstitutional infringement of gun rights protected by the Second Amendment.

However, in a press conference in Padilla, Padilla asserted: "It has nothing to do with the Second Amendment. It's about saving lives."
The NRA pushes back and announces in an article on X that “Anti-gun lawmakers insist that they ban 'assault weapons' push is related to the Second Amendment. Honestly – that's exactly what it is. It's about lifting Americans who comply with the law.”
According to the Congressional Research Service, the United States has had a decade-old ban on assault weapons - the country's Congressional Research Service report said it expired on September 13, 2004.
