Rep. Don Davis (DN.C.), who reflected on immigration and customs enforcement facilities in Stewart County, Georgia last week, stressed that he remains optimistic that there is room for congressional achievement in related policies.
"It was a very transparent visit and pointed out that he also had the opportunity to talk to the detainees. “We were able to walk around and go to places. I was even able to interact with the detainee again. ”

North Carolina Democrats stressed that despite rapid changes in border and immigration policies in recent months, the legislative department needs to step up changes.
“I believe we need to take a broader step to take action. I believe we need to move forward through comprehensive immigration reform. Davis noted that he observed that some detainees actively passed judicial procedures to determine their future, which could require deportation.
"I “Being able to observe the detainees actually conducted judicial review and had a hearing,” Davis said, noting that he “had also witnessed other people who spoke to lawyers in private safe areas.”
"So what I gain is that when we see more detainees coming through detention centers, it is important that we have to prioritize public safety. We cannot compromise on public safety. I believe we can still do this in a way that we can comply with the Constitution."
