Dejan Kulusevski will face Manchester United's Europa League final next Wednesday after he performed surgery on a knee injury suffered by Crystal Palace over the weekend.

In a statement confirming the injury, the Spurs did not confirm the schedule for Kulusevski's recovery time, but in a game just seven days away from Bilbao, Ange Postecoglou is likely to be able to call on three suitable senior midfielders to United - United - Rodrigo Bentancur, Rodrigo Bentancur, Yves Bissouma and Yves Bissouma and Pape Matharsarars and Pape Mathars sarrs class.

"After further expert consultation, the midfielder underwent surgery today and will recover immediately with our medical staff," the North London Club said in a statement.

Lucas Bergvall suffered an ankle injury before the Spurs defeated Bodo/Glimt in the first leg of the semifinals and would miss the rest of the campaign. James Maddison also missed the final after a knee injury against Norway.

PosteCoglou, who replaced Kulusevski's speech in the 19th minute after the palace match, thought the injury would not leave him out of the final.

Asked about the extent of Kulusevski's question, PosteCoglou said: "He should talk to him after this.

"The medical team doesn't care much about him. It's more than anything else. We hope he should be fine."

Kulusevski was a regular at Postecoglou's starting XI in the first half of the campaign, but a foot injury in March kept him away for two months. His absence coincides with the emergence of 19-year-old Bergvall and Maddison's recovery form. But, over the past two weeks, all three seasons have ended with injuries.

Injuries have been the subject of Postecoglou's second season, but for the Spurs' unpressed head coach, the timing of Kulusevski, Bergvall and Maddison's respective absences will hardly be worse.

The Spurs' frustrating league campaign has put them at No. 17 at the Premier League table - one of the relegation zones - and only the possibility of a victory in the Europa League can save something from the season.

If the Spurs do overcome United - they beat three times in all the games this season - that would make them eligible for the Champions League and represent their first trophy since 2008.

Postecoglou's side trip faced Aston Villa in the penultimate position of the Premier League campaign on Friday before heading to Spain.
