Charlotte, NC (AP) - Bryson DeChambeau has a word to describe him finishing second in the PGA Championship. Call it "confused".
The power batsman also seemed happy to be out of Charlotte and away from Quail Hollow's closed three holes called Green Mile.

"Yesterday, Green Mile did to me, and today it was golf, man," Dechambeau said. "I had to be more precise and fix the issues I could solve to make myself more consistent and stand there, like what Scottie (Scheffler) is doing now."
DeChambeau tied for the last three holes of the Quail Hollow with 4 points on the weekend with 4 wins and tied for Harris English and Davis Riley for second place with 278 and 6 strokes, five strokes behind Scheffler.
DeChambeau called Quail Hollow's closing ceremony the toughest part he's ever played.
He went into the green mile in the tough 15 holes on Saturday and Sunday, hoping to put pressure on Schefler.

He never did.
Instead, DeChambeau was forced to finish third in the last four major championship games, including a victory at the U.S. Open last summer. He has seven top ten in the past 11 Grand Slams.
“Always proud to be proud of the top five professionals,” Deschamps Bow said. “I feel like I’m doing a great job, but I mean, it’s disappointing not to finish the job because that’s what I’m here to do.”
Now, he will look to winning the U.S. Open in Oakmont next month.
"I'm going to work hard to do that," DeChambeau said.
Riley will be with him.

He had a disappointing 72 contacts after filming 68 and 67 on Friday and Saturday, but won the lead in second, his best score in profession to date. It put him in the world rankings No. 53 and gave him a place in the U.S. open field.
The top four winners of the PGA Championship also received automatic seats in the 2026 Masters.
"Hopefully it will give me a springboard and I can get involved in some of these professional perspectives," Riley said.
The British had a lower day, hitting 65 after hitting the last 12 holes below 6. This includes making birdies on No. 18, one of only six birdies on the field that day.

"I feel like I'm a more comprehensive player now, and it's just matching everything." English refers to a series of missed layoffs earlier in his career. “To make my short game closer, to make my shots more consistent, but I’m very happy with the way I play now.”
He said this also has confidence in the team choice that is quickly approaching in the Ryder Cup in September.
“It seems to me that’s a huge idea,” said the Brit, who won the whistle in 2021 but did not become a team in 2023. ” In a whistle game, once you form one of these teams, you never want to miss it.
"It's just the pinnacle of our sport. It's definitely my mind. Yes, I'm here trying to play a big championship and no matter how capable it is with me and the Ryder Cup, I've done a lot of it for it. I know it's going to go a long way, but I know there's a lot of golf and keeping better games and keeping good games."
