Real Madrid is a favorite of signing Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen and hopes to complete the club's World Cup deal in time.
Madrid contacted Bournemouth on Wednesday and discussions were ongoing between clubs. Personal terms are also being negotiated.
Many Premier League clubs have asked to learn about the developments around Huijsen, with £50 million release clauses believed to have in his contract, including Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool.
So far, no club has contacted Bournemouth to let them know they are willing to pay for the release terms, but Real has taken the first step, believed to be willing to pay.
The dialogue will continue between the two parties, but the fact that Madrid connects show that Huyson has decided on what to do this summer.
Other clubs on the table, many of whom are willing to trigger the release clause of the centre-back, will have to show that they are eager to sign him, and that's where things may change.
Sky Sports News It has been reported that Huijsen's priority will be Real Madrid.
It is believed that as many as five Premier League teams have talks with his agents and clubs from Laliga and Bundesliga, which is a potential package to sign him this summer.
Huijsen's reps have a good relationship with Chelsea, who have other central defenders' goals, including Crystal Palace captain - Bruce Academy graduate - Marc Guehi, Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite and Ajax's Jorrel Hato.
Sky Sports News It was reported earlier this month that Chelsea is seriously considering offering Hato's offer to Ajax.
Analysis by Sky Sports reporter Mark McAdam:
This is a transfer that will take place in the summer of 2024. But less than 12 months later, £12 million became £50 million.
At the end of July, before the windows even drove away, Bournemouth signed a young defender from Juventus. That man is Dean Wechson.
In 2023/24, the appearance of the "Old Lady" in Rome did not completely say that he was the next best thing, but now he is.
Bournemouth obviously saw something that others didn't have. They have faith, a plan, and their recent recruitment shows that they can find special sauces. Huijsen is oozing out the mass.
Huijsen's £50m issuance terms will be activated this summer, but with many big hitters willing to pay, Huijsen will have his choice and it's no secret that he can go anywhere from anywhere.
From Real Madrid to Liverpool, Newcastle to Barcelona, let his queues go around the block.
But, like most players talk about their future, he won't be attracted to these links.
Sitting on the fresh grass at the club's new performance center, Huijsen seemed to be relaxing, saying: "I'm calm. I'm not really focused on it, it's not time. I'm just focusing on sorting out this season.
“My dad was my agent, he fixed everything, I read nothing, I didn’t think about anything, I just focused on my football and hard work.”
Huijsen is also frustrated by the rumored release clause. He smiled and said, “I’m just focused on making history in this club.”
