Manchester City won Kevin de Bruyne in his final appearance at Etihad Stadium as Omar Marmoush beat the Shockers in a 3-1 Premier League victory over Bournemouth on Tuesday, which brought them to third place at the table.

Since joining in 2015, the captain decorated with the club has played his last game at the city’s home court after he helped the team win 16 trophys, which is a run that includes six Premier League titles and the 2023 Champions League.

"(It feels) a little weird. It's an incredible journey," De Bruen said after the game. "I want to bring joy to people, play offensive football, be creative, that's what I think on the court. I want to have fun. It's a really hard work fun and creating something for this club. I'm very proud."

The only thing missing is the Belgian’s goal, Belgium had a ridiculous first half miss, slamming Omar Marmoush’s cross from close range, then hitting the bottom of the bar from close range, then lifting his head in disbelief.

“It’s so scary,” De Bruin said of the Miss. "There is no excuse. My son will be very tough for me today."

De Bruyne hugged his teammates when he was eliminated in the 69th minute. Accompanied by his family, fans shouted “Oh, Kevin De Bruen!”, and he was honored by the city players and staff defenders.

"To have an almost complete stadium to support my family and everything I said," De Bruin said. "Who can have 50,000 people waiting for you to say goodbye? It's indescribable."

The club announced that they would create a statue of him outside the stadium.

“That means I will always be part of this club,” De Bruen added.

The Belgian is regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time and is at the heart of Manchester City's success, but has been injured in recent seasons. Still, the 33-year-old admitted to being "a little shocked" that he was not offered a new contract by City and said he thought he could still play in the Premier League.

City fans expressed their appreciation by unfolding the huge "Keve" banner. Countless No. 17 shirts were scattered with crowds, and some fans drew their faces with "KDB".

The post-match video featured former city teammates, including Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling, Riyad Mahrez, Fernandinho, Vincent Kompany, Joe Hart and Leroy Sane.

"Congratulations on your career, I'm honored to be able to play with you, I hope you're going well, and my friend is of course a legend at Manchester City. I'm also my legend.

Manager Guardiola said: "It's great that everyone is there." "Ten years are a lot of games, a lot of champions, a lot of moments. Today I summarized a little bit of love.

"It's a sad day. He'll be missed. On the other hand, I think it's a great day that he once again made a huge and important contribution to achieving this victory."

It was a big result for Manchester City as they scored 68 points in the remaining game, qualifying for the top five and Champions League in the chase between Newcastle United, Chelsea and Aston Villa (Newcastle United).

Both sides ended with 10 men when they were eliminated by Manchester City's partner Mateo Kovacic in the 67th minute, followed by Evanilson and then Lewis Cook for the 73rd visitor for the Runico gonzalez's Runicless challenge.

City started with the first whistles, and Marmoush scored in the 14th minute when he drifted forward and released a coke oven from 30 yards, from the upper left corner.

Bernardo Silva doubled its lead at 38th when Ilkay Gündogan exchanged the ball back to the Portuguese, who approached Portugal at close range, while Nico Gonzalez hit the game on the 89th and ran from the depths before hitting the ball goalkeeper Kepaabalaga.

Daniel Jebbison pulled a Bournemouth back before the last whistle when he carelessly led to Rúben Dias and then stuffed the ball into goalkeeper Ederson's leg.

Visitors were wasting an excellent opportunity to balance the first half break, but Evanilson hit Marcus Tavernier's cross.

"The start of the game, you can immediately see them starting with a lot of intensity," said Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola. "Their goals were probably one of the best goals of the season, and that cost us."

City midfielder Rodri saw his first move as a late substitute in eight months and entered a clapper. The 2024 Ballon d'Or champion has not competed since the ACL torn in September.
