Eisner Award-winner Dan Slott, who has been the guiding force in Marvel Comics' Spider-Man stories for nearly 15 years, has crossed the street to DC.
Slott, who recently signed an exclusive contract with Marvel, will make his DC debut Superman Unlimitedwrites monthly comics drawn by award-winning horror comic artist and co-creator Rafael Albuquerque american vampire. DC announced the news on Thursday.
The game will be the driving force behind a company-wide initiative called "Summer of Superman," a collaboration with James Gunn's superman Movie. The first film from DC Studios, the discovery arm of Warner Bros., will be released on July 26.
Superman Unlimited No. 1 will be available at local comic book stores and online retailers on May 21st. This new ongoing series will launch with a 10-page prelude by Slott and Albuquerque. DC All In 2025 FCBD Special Edition No. 1 on May 3rd as part of DC's Free Comic Book Day programming.
"He is the first and greatest superhero of all time, and I have been waiting my whole life to tell his story," Slott enthused in a statement. "Not just because of his amazing strength, but also because of his heart."
The comic will begin with a hook of cosmic proportions: a kryptonite asteroid showers Earth with the mineral that weakens Iron Man, changing the balance of power in Metropolis and the planet's criminal empires. "To survive, Superman will need to build new alliances, new technologies, and new tactics if he hopes to continue his pursuit of truth, justice, and a better tomorrow!" the announcement exclaims.

At Marvel, Slott created such titles as amazing Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, Silver Surfer, She-Hulk, Avengers and Super Spider-Man.
