Former Premier League striker Darren Bent doesn't believe Liam Delap is suitable for Chelsea this summer.
The Blues are preparing for another busy window, and the club hopes to sign a striker, right-footed attacker, to strengthen Enzo Maresca's team.
Chelsea also have a lot of players they want to move forward, thinking they can fund the business by selling up to seven or eight from their teams.
Bend doesn't believe Delap is suitable for Chelsea
Chelsea's main priority is the strikers, who did not replace Nicolas Jackson and paid the price.
Chelsea's top target in the position appears to be Liam Delap, who, after confirming the Premier League, has won for £30m.
Maresca has repeatedly praised Delap for being publicly hailed Delap, saying it has put pressure on Chelsea to sign the 22-year-old, who has scored 12 league goals this season.
But Bend isn't sure Delap is suitable for Chelsea and thinks Ipswich's jump is too big for him.
"I think Nicolas Jackson needs to compete for him, but I think they need it, it doesn't respect it, it's better than him," he told TalkSport.
"The question is, where are you finding better? Because it feels like there are about 10 teams looking for a center.
“I think Liam Delap will push him, but that’s another risk because he has all the potential.
"I almost feel like there should be a middle ground somewhere. From Ipswich all the way to Chelsea and compete for No. 9, build yourself, and go again.
"I think Jackson is decent, but I certainly think Chelsea will find it better."
Chelsea has other goals
Delap isn't the only name on Chelsea's roster, and the Blues have connections with people like Benjamin Sesko and Hugo Ekitike.
John Obi Mikel still seems to have pushed Victor Osimhen's move with one hand, but it seems unlikely.
Whoever it is, the most important thing is Chelsea signing the right players because they can’t afford to make the wrong decisions.
