“From the gritty contempt of the 'taxi driver' to the power tension of the 'right thing', from the memorable 'Moonstruck' charm to the raw energy of the 'midnight cowboy' made in New York City, it's not just entertainment — they define generations," Adams said. “For over a century, our streets have set the stage for cinematic masterpieces that have shaped global culture, inspired countless artists, and cemented New York's place as one of the creative capitals of the world. These stories create more than just movie magic — they drive our economy, support tens of thousands of good-paying jobs, and keep our cultural legacy alive. With the return of the 'Made in NY' awards ceremony, We celebrate the extraordinary artists who continue to turn our city into the greatest movies in the world, from investing in new studios and training programs to expanding tax credits, our government is committed to supporting this crucial industry and the vibrant future it promises.”

“We are pleased to announce that the 2025’ winners of the New York Prize are Darren Aronovski, Michelle Butt, Tracy Morgan and Thomas J. O’Donel, a group of people who have jointly helped tell the strong story of the resilience and future of the film and television industry in New York City,” Kaufman added. “Together with Celia Costas, who won the award earlier this year, these winners brought work and dollars through their commitment to work here, despite the pandemic, workforce cessation and industry shifts, we are delighted to have worked hard on Ny Achards in Gracie Mansion on June 16, where we will win the New York Award Ceremony at Gracie Mansion, where we will conquer our money. "New York City is the greatest city in the world. It is also the greatest canvas in the world," Aronovsky said.

Morgan added: “I’m honored to receive the New York Award. I’m really made here, I love the city, I love giving back to it in any way.

"I'm so excited to be included in this year's 'Made in NY' awards," Buteau said. "My performance is a love letter to New York. New York is a beautiful character in every show and movie, and celebrating her is so amazing and necessary."

“I’m honored to be a working member of this outstanding community of filmmakers in New York,” Costas said. “I am forever grateful for the opportunity to follow a career path that informs my life in many ways.”

"I am honored by the recognition of the importance of the film industry to our great city and the role of organizing labor in success. On behalf of the two thousand drama team members I represent, I thank Mayor Adams and his government for supporting this important industry."
