Cowboys signing wish on Keenan Allen includes 1 update reason

Over the past few months, the Dallas Cowboys need a No. 2 receiver to ease the offensive workload of Ceedee Lamb.

Now that the draft is coming, the talk about the people Cowboys can aim at is accelerating.

George Pickens saw his name, so too did Courtland Sutton and Amari Cooper. At this point, one might say that the Cowboys are a little eager to attract receivers in the building, which could lead them to grab players they don't necessarily want.

But let me add a name to that list - Keenan Allen.

Yes, I got the "We've heard this angle" angle of the Cowboys nation, but now there's a big change and can bring Alan directly into the cowboy's sight.

One option for the Cowboys is why Allen still amassed 744 yards and 70 catches for seven touchdowns.

The largest one only happened a few days ago, and Tyler Lockett landed in Tennessee. Why is it important?

Lockett’s $4 million deal shows that big contracts, especially for the moment, aren’t there, free agents, and one thinks that Allen, Allen, spotrac.com’s market value of $11.1 APY may be too expensive.

But Lockett’s trade will definitely give the Cowboys a consideration whether Allen is indeed the target. What if that was $7 million or $8 million, not a $11 million receiver a year? He can be seen as a better receiver than Lockett.

Remember, Allen is 33 and still a free agent, and there is a reason. So, Lockett’s trade may just help the Cowboys with the infamous wallet rope in free agency, and while he isn’t ideal for “explosive” catcher Dallas, he could be promoted to Allen’s position.

Allen had a 6-2 nightmare in a showdown with a 6-2 framework, and the experienced smart guys he had could work with Ceedee Lamb and Dak Prescott. He is still productive in Chicago's offense, which ranked 28th in last year's score (18.2 p/g), and yes, he's a little older, but now he's probably going to cost.

Allen's initial asking price may be too high, but now the draft is over, and there are not many suitors in a season, between $70 and $8 million? It's stupid to at least pick up the phone in Dallas.
