Netflix sets up two NFL games to be played on Christmas Day 2025: the Dallas Cowboys vs. the Washington Commander and the Detroit Lions vs. the Minnesota Vikings.
The Cowboy/Commander game will be aired at 1:00 on Christmas time, while the Lion/Vikings will face to face at 4:30 pm ET. CBS Sports will produce game coverage through NFL media production pre-match, post-match and studio half-time programming.
Netflix further expands the sports slate of the ribbon to have a green "prime time" a documentary about famous NFL coach and former professional football and baseball player Deion Sanders. According to its official profile, "Prime Time" is scheduled for 2026, and "Prime Time" will discuss Sanders' 1997 suicide attempt and his relationship with his biological father, while exploring his "from two sports phenomena to culturally defined coaching and media personality."
"Prime Time" is produced by SMAC Entertainment, Skydance Sports and NFL movies. Bennett Viseltear served as the exhibition, while Courtland Bragg and Terrell Riley Direct. Executive producers include Constance Schwartz-Morini and Fredanthony Smith of SMAC; Jesse Sisgold, Jason T. Reed, and Jon Weinbach of Skydance; and Jessica Boddy, Keith Cossrow, Ross Ketover and Ken Rodgers of NFL films.
Additionally, Netflix has set up a documentary about Jerry Jones, the cowboy owner and general manager for August 2025 for Team America: The Gambler and His Cowboys.
The announcements were made during a Netflix expected speech held in New York on Thursday.
"Our audiences want us to have the best of everything," Netflix Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria said in a statement about the Christmas Olympics. "We are always looking for ways to surprise and satisfy our members, so when we have the opportunity to be bold, bold swings and get the NFL, an amazing boxing match or WWE weekly, we will move quickly and achieve that."
About his docuseries, Sanders said, “It means so much to finally be able to tell my unfiltered story, my TRUTH. I was PRIME TIME, then I dropped the TIME and went by PRIME, and now I'm in the third quarter of my life and they call me COACH PRIME. Y'all knew a part of me each step of the way, but you never knew DEION… and I'm excited to share that with you all – the highs and lows, the truths and tragedies, and everything in between. They can't stop or control God's purpose."
Schwartz-Morini, co-founder and CEO of SMAC, added: "You think you know the prime time…but do you really do it? Only Netflix can have the true realm of Deion Luwynn Sanders - men, myths, legends."
