Courtney Ott leads film marketing

Courtney Ott will lead film marketing.

Her promotion comes after news broke that long-time head of news Ryan Werner left the company to take over as president of Neon Global Cinemas.

Ott joined the agency in 2016 and most recently served as Senior Vice President. She has overseen national PR and awards campaigns, including marketing and news strategies and outreach events, as well as international festival support, customer relationships and overall employee management. The long-time senior staff of film marketing – including Vanessa Agovida, Brian Brooks Julie Chappell, Diana Drumm, Layla Hancock Piper, Charlie Olsky, Lauren Schwartz, Emilie Spiegel and Alexa Tombs – will remain in place.

"I feel the luckiest people in the world can create film marketing with an incredible group of movie lovers," Warner said. "We've been together for the vast majority of our time here. We created this to support filmmakers and be surrounded by some of the most creative, smartest people on both sides of the camera. Leaving the team and the work we do is painful, but they will be with my long-time collaborator and friend's partner and friend Tony (Courtney), who I can't be excited to see my excitement.

“Ryan has been an incredible leader, collaborator and friend for years and I am proud of the work we have done together. I have no doubt that we will continue to look for ways to collaborate in the future,” Otter said. “I am honored to continue working with an incredible film marketing team and continue to build on what Ryan started years ago. Supporting the passion and inspiration of filmmakers will continue to be our top priority.”
