George Strait's "King of Country Music" suggests that his time on stage may be nearing the end.
At a show in Philadelphia last week, the 72-year-old Strait opened to his fans that the path to permanent retirement was inevitable.
Strait said to the audience at his concert: "I may have had five good years singing for you."

Despite the looming retirement idea, Straits’ love for performance is still his smile and his fans.
"But, it's been about 50 years now," he reflected. “And I still like it as much as I do.
In 2012, the Strait announced its withdrawal from the tour. However, he occasionally performs for his country fans.

He continued, "I don't know how many years I can do it. I want to know a little bit." "However, when I do leave this stage, I do want you to know, I'm away from all this...I'll still hear your screams and cheers, and I'll always remember you."

Although the Strait seems to be paying attention to the physical harm the road causes to performers, he has not shown any signs of slowing down.

Texas native grew up on his family’s 2,000-acre cattle farm. In the 1960s, he was inspired by the British invasion of rock groups and began playing in a high school garage band where he met his long-term love Norma.
Country Legends won the most important album in country music history, including 20 of his 60 first albums.
The Strait has 13 multi-platform albums and 38 gold medal albums. His 1992 "Pure Country" catalog has six times platinum, and the highest certified album he has received is the 1995 classic "Outside the Strait".
