On Friday, three members of Congress rushed into the doors of U.S. immigration and customs law enforcement detention centers in New Jersey, asking them to be allowed to conduct “supervised visits.”
Rep. Rob Menendez Jr., Bonnie Watson Coleman and Lamonica McIver, a Delta detention center in Ice in Newark and were detained at the first checkpoint, Department of Homeland Security spokesman Tricia spokesman Tricia McLaughlin McLaughlin McLaughlin McLaughlin told Fox Fox News.
Currently, the prison holds so-called killers, MS-13 gang members, child rapists, and other criminal offenders.

The Department of Homeland Security said lawmakers were outside the facility with a group of protesters as the gates opened to allow ice buses to enter. Legislators then rush through the door and pass by the security.
Militants demanded access to the facility in recent days, saying Geo Group, the building’s new owner, illegally blocked the facility.
Coleman wrote on X: “We opened in the Ice Prison in Newark without the city’s permission and in violation of local regulations.

"The lack of transparency in what happened in the ice in the facility is unacceptable. People deserve dignity and we need answers," McPheres said.
Newark Mayor Ras Baraka said in a press conference Monday that the geographic group “followed the model of the U.S. president, who thinks he can do what he wants and cover up the law, the state and the constitutional laws, they think they can do the same in New Jersey and Newark and Newark.”

On April 1, a lawsuit filed on behalf of the city of Newark claimed that the Geo Group failed to allow access to safety inspectors and violated city building regulations, including electrical and plumbing renovations without proper supervision.
