The 2025 college baseball season is right around the corner, kicking off on February 14th, and it's time to start getting excited about what's to come.
Can 2024 national champion Tennessee become the seventh team to defend its title in Omaha? The last time the team played back-to-back games was in 2010-11, when the South Carolina Gamecocks did it. Entering this year, the Volunteers were ranked fourth. But what about the teams they beat in the final series?
After leading Texas A&M to the championship series against Tennessee, Jim Schlossnagle is now coaching the Texas Longhorns in Austin. But with the addition of Jace LaViolette, the Aggies won't miss a beat. They were atop the preseason rankings, with the Longhorns ranked 19th. While these two teams won't face off until late April, their progression will be as interesting as ever.
