Christian Chavez of RBD announces EP, "Sí"

Christian Chavez of RBD is breaking everything. On Thursday, the Mexican pop star announced that he will release his solo EP Yeson May 6. In handwritten notes, he said the project was a "manifesto" he was eliminated for several years while a member of the pop band RBD.

"I covered my pain with laughter and lived behind the mask. The race to pursue dream come true made me forget my nature." "Romantic love only brings more destruction. I dedicate my power to others, and then they eliminate my voice by exposing my sexual preferences and must be in front of the world like scarlet letters."

Chavez released “Mañana Me Voy” last week, opening up about what he has been since “feeling different” because he was a kid and felt that he needed to reject his intuition to please others because he had a career as a Telenovela actor and musician.

"I was trapped in self-destruction. I went from one relapse to another. My soul needed a painful revolution to heal," Chavez wrote. "This EP is more than just songs and images - it's a declaration about me and my new life. I became my own fucking hero."

In the comments on the post, band member Maite Perroni shared a sweet message of support to Chavez because of his courage in the bill. "I love you with all my heart and I admire you more than words can express." "You are my teacher, and I respect and applaud you every inch of your survival, authenticity and ability to rebuild and love. Forever, always with you, beautiful soul!!!"

Musicians have been solo music for over a year after RBD reunites in the sold-out soy Rebelde Stadium tour in the United States and Latin America. At the start of the run, the singer reflects on the queerness he shared publicly on stage. He told him: "I won't be quiet. I won't change my identity." Rolling stones then. "The old Christian is gone, he will not come back."
