Chile's Villano Productciones and Storyboard Media are signing a co-production agreement for the feature film "Simulacro" in this year's Cannes Market, in collaboration with Viven Movies (Switzerland) and Chilean actor producer Benjamín Vicuña ("locked", "Fuga"). Directed by Juan Ignacio Sabatini, the film is a political sports thriller based on real events that shocked the world of football.

"Simulacro" was set in Brazil, dramatizing the 1989 scandal in the World Cup qualifier between Chile and Brazil, when Chile goalkeeper Roberto Rojas was injured in the match at the Maracan Stadium. The incident sparked global outrage and revealed deep-rooted problems in the campaign.
