Chiefs' Andy Reid shares parenting advice after Patrick and Brittany Mahomes welcome third child

kansas city chiefs Head coach Andy Reid knows football. He also knows a thing or two about being a father.

on Monday, Patrick and Brittany Mahomes announced the birth of their third child in a post on social media. Golden Raye Mahomes was born on Sunday, January 12, and is the couple's second daughter.

They also have a two-year-old son named Patrick Lavon III, nicknamed "Bronze."

Mahomes' three-year-old told reporters he's happy with the size of his family "right now," but Reid offered a different perspective when speaking to the media.

"Yeah, I think he's done a good job with it," Reed said when asked how the veteran quarterback is handling fatherhood. "He came in as Patrick at 2 p.m. and now he's Patrick at 3 p.m."

But for Reed, a father of five, he believes more is better.

"Once you have three, four and five it's easy. That's what I told him," Reed said with a laugh. “You’ve already done three, you add a few more and we’ll talk.”

However, Mahomes’ focus right now is definitely the playoffs.

“I think every year is special,” Mahomes said. "Obviously, you want to win three in a row and build those memories with the players and the community. But every year is special. When I look back at all the different Super Bowls we've won, I look back at the special moments that we've had and Special games that we've had, so we're going to try to do the same thing this year."

The Chiefs enter Saturday's game well-rested after receiving a bye as the top seed.
