America's most loyal customers accused one of the most popular restaurant chains in the United States.
Cheesecake Factory is known for its large size and has over 200 locations across the United States. The chain is known for providing a spacious calorie menu with over 250 items in a variety of gourmet cuisine.
But now, the restaurant is accused of falling into a contraction, a time when the company keeps the price the same or raises it while making the product smaller.

Members of cheesecake factory Reddit Group, a community of 4,000 cheesecake lovers, recently discussed the alleged reduction in size of the chain.
In one article, a skeptical customer shared a picture of the cheesecake slice in a standby box.

“I got a slice of cheesecake for the last few times, about half the usual slice,” the post began.
“I saw an article on this submarine, but people say it could be due to incorrect machines rather than smaller ones.”

Users continued: "Does other people continue to go through smaller slices? What's more disturbing is that there is no change in calories for each slice listed on their website, which makes people think they deserve the same slice."

Most commenters have verified user concerns, and they have overwhelmingly concluded that they have also noticed smaller slices.
"There used to be eight slices of cheesecake," one Redditor claimed. "Now each is 12 slices."
Another commenter replied: "Of course, the price will only rise."
"If memory works, I think the slices turned into something smaller years ago," said one Redditor.
Another recalled: "Yes! A month ago, I was shocked by the size of the to-do slices we handed to the counter."
Other users say the cake slice has been smaller for some time.
"If memory works, I think the slices turned into something smaller years ago," said one Redditor.

Another wrote: "The slices are absolutely smaller. I noticed a few years ago. I remember you could easily separate a piece and you would get a lot. Now every bite is like two or three bites, lol!"

In the thread, Baker noted that while cheesecakes are very simple to make, they can be expensive due to the amount of cream cheese required.
"I bake it a lot and cheesecakes are actually one of the simple things to bake, as long as you follow the instructions," the user said.

“It’s essentially cream cheese, and you need a lot,” the user said. “In sharp contrast to things like Bond Cake, it’s also a fairly simple cake, but the cost of ingredients (IS) is relatively cheap.”
The cheesecake factory isn't the only food franchise to be attacked by contraction charges. Last year, Pepsico began adding more chips to the bag after complaining about shrinking.

At the time, CEO Ramon Laguarta said inflationary pressures and higher borrowing costs “continue to impact consumer budgets and spending ways”.
