Charles Barkley tore the current Zero landscape toward the NCAA: "Destroy the Sport"

Charles Barkley is not a fan of the NCAA management and transfer portal.

Barkley, 62, didn’t have a sarcasm when talking about the current state of college basketball.

"NCAA, they're a bunch of idiots and fools. They ruined the sport. I don't know how you put toothpaste back in the tube."

Barkley is not against college players being paid, but it is hardly meaningless for how much money players make and how often players can change schools.

“The idea is that you have to come up with tens of millions of dollars to pay the kids to play basketball and make them free agents every year, transfer to another school every year and get more money.

"But, the idea we have to give college students tens of millions of dollars a year and basketball is the worst because you'll only get a great player in six months. I don't even know how you're going to get a return on your investment."

Buckley was asked if he had ever donated money to his alma mater, Auburn, to help him with zero fund, but the basketball Hall of Famer would rather donate his money to a more important cause.

"I just gave HBCU $10 million, which is even more important to me. I donated millions of dollars in 'Blight', Birmingham's hometown of Birmingham, to rebuild the house," Barkley said.

"It's more important for me than joining college track and field. If even the 11th All-Star Game was going to donate to Auburn's zero fund, he wasn't sure how he would get a return on his investment.

"If I gave a three, four, five, seven, some people were going to get six, seven, eight million dollars, I'm not sure if he only attended my college for a year, I probably wouldn't have won the championship."
