The screening of "Magalhães" starring Gael Garcia Bernal is a historical epic about the life and sailing of the Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan. The film is a collaboration between several production companies, including the Catalonian Andrgra film and shows Lav Díaz's unique, slow style in solving historical materials.

"pilgrimage," Cara Simon (Spain)
Part of the autobiographical trilogy of Berlin Golden Bear champion Simón's autobiography trilogy, Romería, follows Marina, a young adopted woman who travels to Vigo to meet with her biological father's family for the first time. The film continues a deep tradition of personal storytelling that won praise from Simón International for its “Alcarràs” and “Summer 1993.”

“Sirat,” Oliver Laxe (Spain, Portugal, France)
After his Cannes Film Festival won with the "Fire Future" Oliver Laxe returned with "sirat", a project shrouded in mystery but produced by major industry players such as Pedro Almodóvar's El Deseo and Movistar Plus. In Cannes’ main competition, the film promises Laxe’s signature contemplative style and visually immersive landscape.

"Sleepless City", Guillermo Galoe (France, Spain)
Guillermo Galoe made her debut in the mid-week with the first featured "Insomnia City" from Sintagma, Buenapinta Media, Encanta and Bteam Prods. The film explores the plight of the Romani family, one of the largest illegal slums in the suburbs of Madrid.

"The witch echoes," Marc Camardons (Spain)
"The Sorceress Echo" was chosen as La Cinéf, a short film produced by Escac, one of Catalonia's most famous film schools. The choice of this record with the story of the first-time filmmaker’s Supernatural Roots marks another promising work by an emerging Catalan filmmaker.
“+10k,” Gala Hernández (Spain, France)
"+10k" is a short film directed for two weeks, and is a new work by Gala Hernández. Produced by 15-L movies and Don Quicotte movies, it follows a 21-year-old who lives with his mother but is attracted by the ultra-modern Get-get-Quick Quick Quick Shemes.

"The face of grace," Anna Martí Gomingo and Laura Santos Martí (Spain)
Included in the Copro selection in Cinéma De DeMain, "Face of Grace" was produced by Allegra Pictures and Nocturna Pictures. The project represents the emerging Catalan talent in Cannes, thus giving a glimpse of a new narrative voice dedicated to the language of fresh cinema.
"The stork's flight," Soumaya Hidalgo Djahdou, Berta Vicente Salas (Spain)
Another documentary involved in Cannes articles is "Flying the Storks" which is produced by off-road films. It studies a young female relationship of Algerian descent, ready to head to her home for Ramadan.

“We are a great family.” Chiara Marañón, Juan Soto Taborda, Cristina Rosselló (Spain)
This documentary feature is part of Cannes Docs' Spanish display cabinet for ongoing documentaries. Produced by Lacima Productciones and Sandelion Productions, the film revisits Spanish history under the leadership of the dictator Francisco Franco through intimate family videos between 1942 and 1999.

"Who knows?" Carlo Padir (Spain)
Presented in the proof of concept section of the Marchédu movie "Who Knows?" It is a genre-driven project written with film critic and screenwriter Desirée De Fez. The concept was produced by the Catalonian Federation Studios and the Spanish Federation and teased the genre cinemas in the European and North American markets.
"1999", David
David Casademunt's "1999" was selected as Fantastic 7, a high-concept fantasy project led by upcoming films and anonymous Spanish content. Casademunt's new project is known for its genre expertise, further cementing the Catalonian presence – the region hosts the prestigious Sitges Film Festival for genre stories to enhance genre storytelling.

The short film 2025 short corner is “Made with sugar” and is produced by Lastor Media (“Alcarràs”) and Suica Films. A brief display of Cedó's talent and reflects the various scopes of contemporary Catalan storytelling style.

Also in the 2025 Shortcat, àlexssardà The Prince is also a co-production between the 15-L film and Canadian partners, expanding the international network of Catalonia's short film producers.

From the Nanouk movie ("This Is Not Sweden"), "Skin Desperation" joins the Short Car 2025 lineup, deeply addressing emotional and potentially provocative themes through its title and artistic ambitions.
“Our room” Jaume Claret (Spain)
Produced by up-and-coming directors Claret ("The Strange River") and Dvein films, Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola and Miramemira, "Our Room" promises collaboration and interdisciplinary storytelling work in fast food cats in 2025.
