Casandra "Cassie" Ventura testified on Wednesday the Sean "Diddy" comb detailing other incidents of alleged abuse.
Photos of her injuries, including dark eyes, bruises and obese lips, were shown to the court, where the comb sat with his children and attorney in front of his family members.
One of these disputes was captured through hotel surveillance videos of Century City InterContinental City in Los Angeles. To date, throughout the comb sex trafficking trial, the jury has repeatedly presented video evidence of the incident to the jury. Photos of Ventura's swelling lips taken the same day were also shown in court Wednesday.
The incident happened after the Intercontinental incident, Ventura went to her apartment and her friend Kerry Morgan saw her injury and called the police. Ventura talked to the police but did not file the charges or even provided the name of the comb, so they left. "I don't want to hurt him in this way," Ventura said in the witness stand. "I'm not ready yet."
Ventura said Combs' alleged violent outbreak occurred days before the red carpet premiere of her 2016 film The Perfect Match. When photos of her injury were shown in court, Ventura said she was beaten by a comb, resulting in dark eyes and bruises on her face. She said she had to wear makeup to cover up the harm adequately, and at some point in the night she turned into a new outfit to cover up her leg bruises.
Three years ago, Ventura performed at the OVO Fest in Canada. The night before the festival, after the comb allegedly packed his suitcase, the comb forced him into his apartment in Los Angeles and physically abused her, resulting in a cruel eye injury that required a plastic surgeon's suture. Ventura still traveled to Canada the next day and performed her hair to cover up the injury. At the time, she texted a photo of her injury (shown in court) with the title: "You can remember."
"You treat me like Ike Turner," Ventura told Combs in another text message sent by another time. The prosecution asked to explain what this means, and Ventura clarified: "abuse and control."
The prosecution continues to ask Ventura about Combs’ “freaks”, sometimes drug-powered parties that last for several days. Ventura said that the comb has released "freak" videos several times, which show Ventura having sex with a male escort. "(Comb says) He will release them, embarrass me and put my career in danger," Ventura said. "It could ruin everything I work for. It would make me look like a slut. I would be ashamed."
Ventura said the comb often lies to her, introducing videos of deleting "freaks" that she will find on his device afterwards. During a commercial flight at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival, Ventura said she and the comb “feel trapped” after the fight. Ventura said Ventura moved her seat on the plane to avoid the comb, but he followed her, took out her laptop and played a video of her having sex with her male escorts.
Throughout her testimony, Ventura was repeatedly asked if she “want” to participate in “Freaks.” Every time she refuses, she agrees to participate in the comb's sexual fantasy because she loves him and wants him to be happy.
Ventura will continue to testify as his criminal trial escalates in New York. If he is convicted of sexual trafficking and extortion, Combs faces a possible life sentence in prison.
