Sean Diddy’s comb was overdose the night he fought addiction in 2012, when he was overdose at a Playboy mansion, his troubled rap tycoon and his former long-time girlfriend Cassie Ventura, who testified on Thursday’s federal sex trafficking and shelf during a decade of long-term relationship.
The incident happened about four years in their turbulent relationship, and when the defense crossed her, Ventura detailed part of her testimony in the lower federal court in Manhattan. Ventura is reporting details of her time on the comb every day for the court this week, which involves alleged physical abuse, manipulation, violence, and being forced to participate in "freaks", allegedly having sex with the comb and having sex with male sex workers.
"About Whitney Houston died? I believe this:" Ventura asked the defense attorney, who overdoseed. "That night, we had 'freaks'. We went to a sex club in San Bernardino and then he had a party at the Playboy's mansion that night, and what I told me from (comb) was that he went to a very powerful opioid that night, but we didn't know what was going on."
Ventura told defense attorneys who asked her about her time with influential rap and fashion players, who she and the comb used painkillers and opioids throughout her relationship. Ventura testified that at the top of Combs’ rap and fashion industry, he was an addict. She told the court that he also said: "I would say he was an addict." Ventura said when questioned by prosecutors earlier this week that after punishing the "freak", she began to numb the painkiller, which could involve drug use and sexual activity, said she said it was carefully planned and directed by a comb for several days.
COMBS was arrested in September and was accused by federal prosecutors of two decades of abuse of women, trafficking in sex workers and turning their music and fashion empires into criminal businesses in five counts of indictments. He pleaded not guilty and denied all charges against him.
Ventura, who once served in a rehabilitation facility in Arizona, said she didn’t stick to it, noting that for her and the comb, the addiction problem was intermittent and they would have conversations about wanting to clean up and stop using it. Ventura revealed late Thursday that the drug affected the "freaks", he said the comb expressed concerns about being caught by the "matrix", a code they took when any sexual behavior occurred in the "freaks."
Ventura's cross-examination mainly included willing participants who tried to show her a seemingly abusive relationship with the comb. Questions about her infidelity, drug use and jealousy with other women are deflected primarily by Ventura, who is biased towards her past, whose aspects of her past are less likable, which clearly describes it as past behaviors related to the toxic relationship between the past. At one point, she told Combs' defense attorney Anna Estevao that the reason she continued to attend "Freak" with Combs was because for her, it was a job. Ventura, now married and with two children, was eight months pregnant as she detailed the time when the comb was a star witness to the prosecutor.
Ventura's 2011 affair with rapper Kid Cudi and romantic engagement with actor Michael B. Jordan, as she explained the "explosive" reaction of the comb when he learned of his infidelity or decided to date another celebrity. Infidelity is a common problem for the couple. Ventura testified that she was "jealous" about Combs' relationship with his former model Kim Porter and said she wanted to be a part of his family life after years of dating combs. She testified that Combs proposed a relationship with Cudi throughout the relationship.
On Thursday, the defense also introduced a series of words between Ventura and the comb to the jury, trying to prove that she was a participant willing to participate in the "freak" rather than forcing anything against her will.
Ventura wrote in a message: "I'm ready to frighten laugh." Combs wrote in another "I'm horny," Ventura replied: "Oh my God, I'm going to text you." In the third comb, Ventura texted, saying: "I can't wait," and one of the "freaks" replied: "I can't wait." A text message presented by the defense was so graphic that federal prosecutors opposed and upheld and called for an adjournment with Judge Aron Sabramania.
Ventura testified that she participated in the drug and gender marathon to keep her comb, the boss of Bad Boy Records and her long-term romantic partner, happy and fulfilling. She told the court that she wanted a child to be with him.
With one day left for the scheduled cross-examination, Judge Subramanian urged the defense team to summarize their questions. The defense argued that prosecutors called two witnesses in front of Ventura's testimony this week, so she should be able to complete cross-examination on Monday.
"We're going to try to narrow it down," said defense attorney Marc Agnifilo. "This is a key witness and I'm going to come back in the morning and give you an estimate. It's an important witness and a very important case."
