Sean "Diddy" comb sex trafficking trial reached a dramatic peak Wednesday afternoon, with his ex-girlfriend Casandra "Cassie" Ventura crying in his final testimony.
The prosecutor's final paragraph of doubt focused on the late stages of her 11-year relationship with the comb, which Ventura claims is full of physical and psychological abuse.
She details the night she shared with the comb after her breakup in 2018, when the two had dinner in Malibu to find the "closure". At the time, Ventura was in a romantic relationship with her current husband, Alex Fine. Ventura described Combs' behavior in Malibu as "romantic", "rompet" and "Nice", saying they were "laughing" throughout the dinner. But after dinner, the comb brings Ventura back to her apartment in Hollywood and becomes enterprising.
“He raped me in my living room,” Ventura whispered. "I remember crying and saying no, but soon."
Ventura said the comb had her eyes “black” as she continued to rape her while she cried. She said he cums out of her heart when she yelled “No” and then he gets up and leaves.
Federal Attorney Emily Johnson asked Ventura if she had sex with the comb after being accused of rape, and she said yes, she chose to sleep with the comb after her friend's birthday, when they were all "happy". Ventura explains why she would be willing to have sex with the comb after allegedly raped her, saying: "We've been together for over a decade. You're not only going to refuse feelings in this way."
The last time Ventura and Combs were together in the same room was in 2018, at the funeral of Combs' long-time former Kim Porter.
At the end of the testimony, Ventura was asked about her life while living with her husband and two children in 2023. (Ventura had a third child when she was obviously pregnant in the witness stand.
One night, Ventura had a "terrible PTSD flashback" and told her husband that he "can do" without her when their kids sleep. “I tried to go out of the front door and into traffic, and my husband wouldn’t let me go,” Ventura said, saying as she cried and reached for a tissue.
Ventura was undergoing trauma therapy and rehabilitation for drug use, and when she completed the program, she began writing a book about her experience with her mother’s help. She said she wrote the book because she wanted the comb to read it and “understand” “the pain he made me go through” since she was 22, when Combs was first suspected of placing her under his drug-style sexual fantasy, known as “the freak.”
Ventura said she asked the lawyer to send the book to Combs' team, but she heard "this is not taken seriously". "I want to get compensation for many years," Ventura said.
So in November 2023, Ventura filed a civil lawsuit against the comb, accusing him of rape and years of physical abuse. The comb continues to deny the allegations. The lawsuit was settled 24 hours after Ventura filed the lawsuit and revealed in court Wednesday that she received $20 million from Comb and his company.
When asked why she testified against the comb at a federal trial, he faced a potential life sentence for sexual trafficking and extortion charges, Ventura said: "I'm doing the right thing here. I can't carry this anymore... shameful, introvert."
