Cannes Investor Circle Awards Marie Kreutzer's Gentle Monster

A gentle monsternew feature project by Austrian director Marie Kreutzer (Cornate), won the 2025 Artekino International Award in Cannes Investor Circle this year. Producers Alexander Glehr and Johanna Scherz of producers Ag Produktions received a €20,000 ($22,000) reward at a private marketing conference that released the third edition of the MarchéDu movie’s selected investment platform.

Kreutzer said of her victory, "I was surprised in the most positive way. Filmmaking is a very big mountain, and what happened before the premiere - making a movie - is a long climb. So we really need people who want to support the cinema and love the movie - which is why conference investors are very important. So far, I have had a great conversation with these investors. The script has inspired their interest and they are eager to learn more about the project."

During the 78th Cannes Film Festival, investor Circle once again held at Palmes’ Pallage Des Palmes, once again convening top film financiers and stock investors to exclusively demonstrate ten new Auteur-driven projects. The invitation only included speeches from several internationally recognized directors, including Jessica Hausner, Sebastián Lelio, Lukas Dhont and Jasmila Žbanić.
