Canadian voters seem to have given Irving central banker and businessman Mark Carney the governing liberals, the fourth term after U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to take over Canada's congressional election.
On Monday night, major Canadian broadcasters (such as CBC, CTV and Global News Predictions are expected to be followed shortly after 10 p.m., when the British Columbia poll ended. But the decision of the major television networks no longer predicts whether Carney is Canada's next leader, whether his liberals will win a majority, or will end the election with a minority government and need alliance partners to rule.
Pre-election polls pointed out that Pierre Poilievre's Conservative Party won a strong election victory, Canadians were suddenly beaten by Trump, and his tariff war restored Carney and the liberals to Ottawa's power.
After Prime Minister Justin Trudeau resigned from making room for Carney, the Liberal Party and Canadian voters returned to their destiny, just as Trump launched a trade policy attack on his northern neighbors. This prompted the wave of nationalism to clean Canadians characterized by moments of the elbow, a hockey term that can raise your fists and protect yourself.
Carney seemed to win the election with the temperament and tone of the former heads of Bank of Canada and Bank of England, as Canadians think it's best to protect Canada from Trump and represent the country opposite the U.S. president in the upcoming U.S. Canadian trade negotiations.
Conservative leader Poilievre saw his poll numbers drop significantly during the campaign as Canadians concluded he was too Trump because the U.S. president targeted his northern neighbors and faced economic threats.
Poilievre also faces ongoing criticism that he has not been associated with his rude and tumbling style campaign against Carney to increasingly slam Trump and his tariffs during the federal election.
Recently, Trump repeated the truth through his social media account social calls for Canada to become 51Yingshi United States states. This quickly led to Poilievre to X, to warn Trump not to laugh at Canada. "President Trump, stay away from our elections...Canada will always be proud, sovereign and independent, we will never be 51Yingshi the country,” the conservative leader said in his post.
Carney also posted a speech on X on Monday about Trump and his annexation taunting Canadians: "We decided what happened. Let's choose to be united."
