Canadian Hockey announced its initial 15-player roster for the 2025 IIHF World Championship on Thursday.
However, the Brass led Canada into the game, but left two of the most well-known names in the lineup.
In the early roster, neither Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby nor Chicago Blackhawks Connor Bedard was included in Connor Bedard, which was selected by general manager Kyle Dubas and the NHL executive panel.
Although more players will be added in the coming days, Crosby and Bedard signals they either refuse to participate or are still undetermined.

Currently, Canada’s lineup relies heavily on young and Olympic beer talents, including McLean Celebration, Adam Fantilli, Kent Johnson and Noah Dobson.
Dylan Garand is an AHL goalkeeper's NHL rights belonging to the New York Rangers and is the only networker listed so far.
The full roster features forwards Celebrini (San Jose Sharks), Travis Konecny (Philadelphia Flyers), Bo Horvat (New York Islanders), Fantilli (Columbus Blue Jackets), Barrett Hayton (Utah), Will Cuylle (New York Rangers), Tyson Foerster (Flyers), Ryan O'Reilly (Nashville Predators) and Johnson (Blue Jackets).
Meanwhile, the Blue Line consists of Travis Somheim, Dobson (Islander), Ryker Evans (Seattle Kraken), Mackenzie Weegar (Calgary Flame) and Brandon Montour (Seattle).
Crosby, 37, has just completed his 20th NHL season, leading the Penguins with 91 points in 80 games. However, the Penguins missed the playoffs for the third straight season and eventually fired head coach Mike Sullivan.
Crosby has never been to the world championship since 2015, and has not publicly stated whether he will join the world.
Meanwhile, Bedard finished his second NHL season with 67 points in 82 games, becoming the Blackhawks' leading scorer.
"It's still a bit of a decision, but we'll see here in the next few days," the 19-year-old Calder trophy winner, who addressed issues concerning his availability in mid-April.
