Can the Cowboy solve the George Pixar Riddle after a deal with Steeler?
Play

The Dallas Cowboys are in exchange for wide receiver George Pickens. Good luck. You will need it.

Pickens is a world-class talent. Pickens is a world-class headache. Pickens is a fast, excellent receiver. Pickens is the Pittsburgh Steeler's unsolvable back pain. What if Mike Tomlin couldn't figure him out?

This is not to say that Pickens is a bad guy. He is not Antonio Brown, that's for sure. But his in Pittsburgh has always been a problem. And, again, Steeler can't solve the problem. Much of what Pickens does revolves around his immaturity and selfishness. These traits are likely part of the broad receiver genome that dates back to the start of football, and those qualities have been well demonstrated by Pickens.

Pickens' Steelers teammates had to restrict him from being off the court several times during the game. He yelled to argue with his fans.

The NFL has been fined several times for fines, including a free throw after last year's Steelers game against the Cincinnati Bengals. He was allegedly late for the Steelers Week 17 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Steelers coach Tomlin said after the Bengals game, "Man, he's just grown up, man." "It's an exciting game, man. These division games are big. He has a goal on his back because he's George; he knows that. But he has to grow up. He has to rush to grow."

"Obviously, there's more room for growth there," Tomlin then added at the team's season ending press conference in January. "I think he's covered some ground in 2024, but there's definitely a lot to cover and we'll see where it stays."

It leaves them without him.

Former All-Pro receiver Chad Johnson said in February that he had a conversation with Pickens and thought the Steelers would not start from Pickens. Obviously, this is before today's trading news.

"I promise you won't have any more questions," Johnson said at that time. "I talked to him. I promise you, I don't want to sit here and talk about what we're talking about, but I told him, 'Listen, that window of opportunity? (that (exaggerated) is shrinking very quickly now.' How good are you, I'll use your line, "They will tolerate you until they replace you."

Hopefully Chad Johnson's guarantee is transferable.

The Steelers will certainly walk on the highways of the industry without throwing Pickens under the bus. But if the core of the report's compensation is a third-round pick, that's not a lot for the Pickens players. The deal seems to be about Steelers’ patience with Pickens.

On the other hand, it's easy to understand why cowboys are risking. The organization looked around and there were dangers everywhere. The Hawks can win multiple Super Bowls. Commander is one of the most effective young franchises of all sports.

"Listen to me," Johnson said. "I've seen his skills. I know what he can do. Stay with me quickly. If he got the chance that Ja'marr Chase got, what do you think his number would be in the Steelers' offense? ...If George Pickens got the chance, Justin Jefferson got the chance with Minnesota, what do you think his number would be?"

This is exactly what the cowboy is thinking.

Dallas is a middle-level team (at best). It needs to do something, especially after the offseason. but Hooo Booyyy This is a possible problematic move.

The cowboy has a hope, and his name is Ceedee Lamb. The Lamb is a comprehensive professional, the alpha in that dressing room (say I would never use the word “alpha”, but I am here). I don't think Pickens would be doing around the Lambs like he did in Pittsburgh.

I don't think so.

Probably not.

Maybe not.

Good luck, Dallas.
