ESPN's NFL draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. and Miami Hurricanes football coach Mario Cristobal were in a speech Wednesday for covering quarterback Cam Ward.

Tennessee Titans chose a Heisman Trophy contender, the No. 1 pick in the draft last month. It was the easiest choice the Titans could have made, arguably when the Shedeur Sanders draft slides began with the Jacksonville Jaguars trading with Cleveland Browns to pick Travis Hunter with the second pick.

Kiper faced criticism within three days of the draft, as he was surprised by the Sanders' fall, even broadcasting live with Reach Davis after the Browns finally picked a quarterback in the fifth round.

Cristobal said that despite his conversation with "Million People", neither he nor offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson spoke about Ward with Kiper.

"I never heard from him," the coach said. "I don't think I've ever talked to him."

Cristobal added that he was not "disappointed" only when Ward was upset. He just wanted to hear his name and go to work.

Kipper fired a shot at Cristobal.

“Mario Cristobal claims he talked to a million people about Cam Ward, but the one he didn’t talk to me, Ward was ranked higher than any other draft expert (my big board is sixth). Interestingly not.

It's Kiper's first post on social media platforms since April 23, and it seems Sanders' fall is still in trouble.

Ward could be the starting quarterback once the Titans season begins. Tennessee learned that this will ride the Denver Broncos, starting the 2025 season from September 7.
